November 2021: A Technician position is available in our lab.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated technician to assist in our studies. 

Your scope:

• Molecular biology (RNA, PCR, cloning, in situ hybridization)

• Transgenesis and gene editing (microinjection and CRISPR/Cas9)

• Histology (cryostat/microtome, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence)

• Microscopy

• Management of the fish facility

• General lab organisation

 

Your profile:

• Training as lab-technician 

• Micro-manipulation skills

• Experience with animal models, preferentially zebrafish

• Independent and diligent working spirit

• Flexibility and the ability to work closely together in a team

• Good knowledge of English

We offer:

• A competitive salary according to qualification and experience.

• A contract for 6 months, with a starting date expected no later than January 1st 2022.

November 2021: A Postdoctoral position is available in our lab to study the genetic program of microglia cell maintenance in the central nervous system.

Desired skills:

We are seeking to hire an outstanding, enthusiastic and autonomous postdoctoral scientist eager to work on an interdisciplinary project. To fulfil the position, applicants must hold a PhD degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or relevant field for no more than 6 years and must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Belgium for more than 12 months during the 3 years preceding the start of the position. The ideal candidate should also have a strong background in hematopoiesis, cell and molecular biology, as well as expertise in cell transplantation and gene editing (CRISPR/Cas9). Previous experience working with zebrafish and with confocal microscopy are an asset but are not required. Good oral and written English language skills are essential. 

 

Additional information:

The position is funded for one year (with possibility of extension up to 3 years), with a starting date expected on January 1st 2022. Review of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
